One Day in Padang.
In the past my grandfather always tells me the story about his hometown. It is Padang. The food, the language and the tourist attractions is in the story my grandfather. sometimes he teach me the language but I’m always forgot. From that I really want to go to Padang, just for looking Jam Gadang, eat Nasi Padang in Padang and feel the atmosphere. Alhamdulillah, i’ve the chance.
Day 1
We arrived in Bukit Tinggi at 6pm, we will stayed at Deya’s friend home. Her house its ten minutes from Gadang Clock. After Maghreb, we go to Jam Gadang just two of us because Deya’s Friend has been there. When the first saw Jam Gadang in my deep heart said “Wooooooowww this is Jam Gadang with smile” hahahaha. At the time a lot of people here, they just enjoy the night. We strolling around. Long story short, we comeback to Deya’s friend home for rest because me and deya will continue our holiday and Deya’s friend will be back to Jakarta for work.
Day 2
Deya and me take a breakfast with Deya’s friend family. And the we prepared our luggage and say goodbye to their family. Yeah because we will move to the hotel. I already rent the car with the driver at my uncle friend, the driver name is Pak Deni. He is a friend of my father’s friend hahaha. Okay our first destination is Istana Basa Pagaruyung. The location is in Jl. Sutan Alam Bagagarsyah, Pagaruyung, Kec. Tj. Emas, Kabupaten Tanah Datar, Sumatera Barat. Istana Basa Pagaruyung like a museum, in it explains some room of the kingdom family. When in the second floor the panorama was so beautiful.
The next destination is Danau Singkarak. I love the view in the journey so beautiful. We just stayed a minutes and go to the next destination. while on the way we take a break for lunch and pray. And then we continue our trip to Danau Maninjau. My grand father told me that Danau Maninjau is beautiful. But he didn’t tell me the road to the destination. We must through the 44 Kelok, wait what? yasss 44 curve. It’s a new experience for me, especially WOW. We’re not until the end just at Kelok 25 or 26, I think it’s enough hahahaha. We take a break at the warung instead of the kelok, and looking around the view. It’s so beautiful.
The next destination is Ngarai Sianok and Lubang Jepang. On the way to Ngarai Sianok, I realize that we go to that place on the other side, yap the bottom of Ngarai Sianok. Ticket for entrance Ngarai Sianok is $1 or Rp 15rb each person. First stop after inside is the view from upper the Ngarai. There are mountain and ngarai. Next is Lubang Jepang. There is a guide to help you to describe the detail that place. I think if your first time, you should use the guide. I can’t go inside because scared and we don’t have much time. So we just take a picture in front of the sign hehe.
Next, we go to the hotel for rest.
Day 3
In the morning we woke up and got ready to continue the holiday and go home. We looked around the hotel and found a place for breakfast. In front of our hotel there is a Warung Padang. I ordered Lontong Sayur Padang. And surprisingly after the staff served the food, the Lontong that was made was similar to what my mother makes every Eid hahahahaha. So I took a picture and sent it to my mother, and said "look, the Lontong looks similar to what mom makes every Eid". But the taste is less savory but it's okay it's still delicious.
Mr. Deni arrived to pick up us. Okay, we continue the journey to the city of Padang. The trip took about 3 hours, we really enjoyed the view, there were hills and curves. We stopped briefly at the Anai Valley Waterfall. The waterfall is by the roadside and Beautiful. Once satisfied, we continued our journey. Finally we arrived at the first stop in the city of Padang, namely the Great Mosque of West Sumatra. From the outside, we were amazed, wow, that's a cool design. We took a short break and took pictures of course for the memories. When finished, we continued to the second destination, namely Air Manis Beach. Yes, that's right, I want to see the statue of Malin Kundang that my teacher and grandfather used to talk about when I was in elementary school and my grandfather. Mr Deni parked and waited for us around the parking lot, Deya and I rented an ATV to go around the beach and head to where the statue was. Hahahaha, it's also fun it turns out that the nail ATV was on the beach, but after that our clothes were sandy dirty. Then we had lunch and were driven to the airport.
See you again Padang!
