Hello Istanbul!!
Day 5
Arriving in Istanbul on the fourth evening. Nadia and I stayed in the Taksim area. Taksim is considered a touristy area with plenty of food and shopping options. We stayed at the Fitas Oda Hotel. Upon arrival, we took a short rest and looked for some evening snacks around the hotel, then rested, haha.
Alright, let's start our journey in Istanbul. Our first destination is the Galata Tower. From our hotel, we headed to the nearest MRT station to get to the Galata Tower. Upon arrival there, we looked for a place to eat first for breakfast, hehehe. After having enough energy, we continued by taking photos near the Galata Tower.
Next, we headed to the Topkapi Palace. According to Wikipedia, the Topkapi Palace served as the official residence of the Ottoman Sultan for over 600 years (1465-1856). Construction of the palace began in 1459 under the orders of Sultan Mehmed II. The palace complex consists of four main courtyards and numerous smaller buildings. At its peak, the palace was home to 4,000 people. In addition to being a royal residence, the palace was used for state ceremonies and royal entertainment. It now serves as a tourist attraction and houses important sacred relics from the Muslim world.
Next, we headed to Hagia Sophia🩷 and strolling around near the Hagia Sophia.
